Tim Mostad oversees the Engineering & Technical Services division at VTM Group and has more than 30 years of experience in the computer industry. He joined VTM Group after a twenty-year tenure at Intel Corporation, where he managed several groups, most recently as the Director of Tools and Core Technologies in the Software Enabling Group.
One of Tim’s many achievements at Intel was inventing the concept of a “Plugfest” in 1993. Originally called a “Compatibility Workshop,” the Plugfest has been adopted industry-wide as the primary means to assure operational compatibility among computer products manufactured by multiple vendors. Plugfests have spurred widespread industry acceptance of technologies such as PCI (Peripheral Component Interconnect), USB (Universal Serial Bus) and SATA (Serial ATA).
Tim is also the General Manager of Vprime, a test and compliance tool company, and he’s the part-time compliance technical administrator for SATA-IO.
Tim has an Electrical Engineering degree from DeVry University in Phoenix, Arizona.
