The Open Connectivity Foundation (OCF), a leading Internet of Things (IoT) standards organization, today announced the launch of the automotive project to provide the technology, standards and collaboration needed to enable interoperability between the automotive and other verticals including consumer electronics, enterprise, healthcare, home automation, industrial and wearables. The OCF Automotive Project will be driven by members from Samsung, Honeywell, Cisco, SmartThings, ETRI, GRL and Tinnos.

The Ethernet Alliance, a global consortium dedicated to the continued success and advancement of Ethernet technologies, named David J. Rodgers of Teledyne LeCroy to its Board of Directors. A recognized technical expert in test and measurement, Mr. Rodgers’ appointment increases the board’s overall diversity and helps the organization address the Ethernet-driven advances occurring in test and measurement.

The Ethernet Alliance, a global consortium dedicated to the continued success and advancement of Ethernet technologies, today opened the Call for Presentations (CFP) for its 2016 Technology Exploration Forum (TEF 2016), scheduled for September 29, 2016, at the Santa Clara County Convention Center. At TEF 2016: The Road to Ethernet 2026, key industry stakeholders will examine Ethernet’s recent burst of activity and expansion, and deliberate challenges and opportunities that lie ahead. The day’s proceedings will focus on Ethernet’s intense development trajectory, as well as rapidly evolving market demands and technology challenges impacting Ethernet throughout the next 10 years. Interested parties are invited to submit session proposals by July 8, 2016.

Today, the UEFI Forum announced the availability of a new white paper. “The Chain of Trust: Keeping Computing Systems More Secure” is the first in a series of white papers that explores best practices for locking down the firmware platform using an approach called Chain of Trust (CoT).  CoT helps users gain more confidence that their computing system is as safe and free from different classes of attacks as possible.
