The Ethernet Alliance, a global consortium dedicated to the continued success and advancement of Ethernet technologies, today announced it had been recognized by the IEEE Standards Association(IEEE-SA) for its Power ver Ethernet (PoE) Certification Program. The IEEE-SA Conformity assessment Award was conferred on the Ethernet Alliance during the standards body’s annual awards ceremony on December 2, 2018. Also honored at the event was Ethernet Alliance Board of Directors member, David Chalupsky of Intel Corporation, who received the IEEE-SA Standards medallion for his leadership in standards development enabling ever increasing and practical server access, including BASE-T and highspeed electrical interfaces.

The MIPI Alliance, an international organization that develops interface specifications for mobile and mobile-influenced industries, today released MIPI I3C Basic v1.0, a subset of the MIPI I3C specification that bundles the most commonly needed I3C features for developers and other standards organizations.

The MulteFire Alliance, an independent, diverse and international member-driven consortium that is defining and promoting MulteFire® technology – LTE technology operating in unlicensed bands – today announced the completion of its Release 1.1 specification that is optimized for IoT. Adding support for eMTC-U and NB-IoT-U, as well as support for additional spectrum bands, the Release 1.1 specification delivers more robust wireless network capabilities for Industrial IoT and Enterprises to meet their specific requirements for performance, latency, security and mobility.

‘The key to consumer connectivity needs and interoperability is standardisation and certification of devices’ – that was the message given by the Marketing Chair of HomeGrid Forum, Livia Rosu at this year’s Total Telecom Congress.

Speaking at the event roundtable with consumers and operators, “Living a smart lifestyle in a smart city: moving towards a smart connectivity future” which took place in London at the end of October, Livia Rosu explained: “As consumers demand faster and higher-capacity Wi-Fi throughout the entire home, mesh networks are growing in popularity to deliver uniform coverage. To be able to ensure full Internet of Things (IoT) coverage and quality user experience, demand for G.hn backbone is only going to grow.”

The Ethernet Alliance, a global consortium dedicated to the continued success and advancement of Ethernet technologies, today announced its next Ethernet Alliance Higher Speed Networking Plugfest for port data rates ranging from 25 Gigabits per second (Gb/s) to 400 Gb/s. The weeklong event—beginning Dec. 3, 2018, at the University of New Hampshire InterOperability Laboratory (UNH-IOL) in Durham, New Hampshire—will allow Ethernet Alliance members, equipment manufacturers, test and measurement professionals, etc. to test and improve interoperability of their olutions. In addition, members of the 100G Lambda Multisource Agreement MSA) Group also are invited to attend the plugfest, under terms of a new memorandum of understanding (MoU) between that industry consortium and the Ethernet Alliance.

The HDBaseT Alliance, the cross-industry group tasked with promoting and advancing the HDBaseT standard, is pleased to announce the establishment of the HDBaseT Medical Work Group to develop an industry standard for secure medical connectivity. HDBaseT is the ultimate technology for high performance digital connectivity, enabling the convergence of audio & video, Ethernet, controls, USB and power over a single Cat6 cable for up to 100m, or even longer distances with fiber.

The MIPI Alliance, an international organization that develops interface specifications for mobile and mobile-influenced industries, today announced at MIPI DevCon Seoul that all of its specifications relevant for applications in mobile platforms are 5G ready. A new white paper— “Making the 5G Vision a Reality: A 5G Readiness Assessment of MIPI Specifications”—details how key specifications, such as those for cameras, displays and audio, enable the initial 5G smartphone market and address some of the growing 5G use cases beyond mobile.

The Ethernet Alliance, a global consortium dedicated to the continued success and advancement of thernet technologies, today announced the awarding of its prestigious Holy Cup to five companies publicly demonstrating single-lambda 100 Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) in Quad Small Form-factor Pluggable module(QSFP28). Enabling commercially viable lowest-cost 100GbE pluggable transceiver technology while providing streamlined architecture, proven reliability, and a clear path to 400GbE, the achievement represents an important historic milestone in Ethernet’s history.

In the event’s Industrial Internet Forum, Hall C3, stand 534, Nov 14-16, 10:00 – 13:00, TCG members Keao Caindec, Mocana and Nir Tasher, Winbond, will present on the TCG Device Identifier Composition Engine (DICE) and securing industrial systems and data using the Trusted Platform Module (TPM).
