The Visible Light Communication (VLC) industry is growing at a rapid rate and is set to exceed ten billion devices by 2023, according to HomeGrid Forum President Dr Len Dauphinee. Today, Dr Dauphinee laid out a roadmap of the future of VLC and its role alongside G.hn in promoting a secure wireless environment.

The InfiniBand® Trade Association (IBTA), a global organization dedicated to maintaining and furthering the InfiniBand specification, today shared the latest TOP500 List results that report InfiniBand accelerates the top three supercomputers in the world and six of the top 10 systems. Additionally, HDR 200Gb/s InfiniBand, the fastest end to end interconnect technology currently available, makes its debut on the List in four systems – including the fifth highest ranking supercomputer, the Frontera at Texas Advanced Computing Center.

The HDBaseT Alliance, the cross-industry association tasked with promoting and advancing the HDBaseT standard, is finalizing the HDBaseT Spec 3.0, the latest and most advanced version of the HDBaseT standard.  Spec 3.0 builds upon the definitions stipulated in Spec 2.0, with major changes in the physical layer (PHY) and USB outlining.  In addition, Spec 3.0 will bring additional improvements to other interfaces.

The CBRS Alliance, an industry organization focused on driving the development, commercialization, and adoption of OnGo™ shared spectrum solutions, celebrates the wireless industry’s progress toward commercialization of the 3.5 GHz CBRS band. The FCC, in coordination with the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) and the Department of Defense (DoD), has approved the Environmental Sensing Capabilities (ESC) of three CBRS Alliance members: CommScope, Federated Wireless and Google.
