Registration is now open for the Master Class at Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) 2017 taught by Avnu Alliance, the industry consortium driving open, standards-based deterministic networking. The three-hour, manufacturer-independent education training, entitled ‘The Evolution of Ethernet and IP for Audio, Video and Beyond,’ will educate AV and IT managers, integrators and specifiers on challenges and solutions for distributing time sensitive audio, video and control signals over an Ethernet network.

The 25 Gigabit Ethernet Consortium, established to develop 25G and 50G Ethernet specifications based upon 25 Gbps SERDES technology, today announced record participation in, and successful completion of, the first 25G and 50G Ethernet plugfest.

Held at the University of New Hampshire InterOperability Laboratory(UNH-IOL) in Durham, New Hampshire, the plugfest provided a forum where consortium members could collaborate and ensure interoperability of feature sets and configurability between their products. Sixteen companies attended the week-long event with a wide variety of test scenarios including auto-negotiation and stressed conditions. The testing demonstrated a high degree of multi-vendor interoperability and specification conformance.

Kalpak Gude, President of the Dynamic Spectrum Alliance , today addressed why the Spectrum Revolution is integral to the future 5G world.

Speaking at the Pacific Telecommunications Council (PTC) annual conference in Hawaii, Mr. Gude told the audience that while there have been, and continue to be, great technological advancements, the industry must face facts: “We must either embrace new sharing techniques to drive spectrum efficiency, while still protecting incumbent services, or continue to spend our energy on the spectrum battles of scarcity and diminish the possibilities of the future wireless world.”

The Heterogeneous System Architecture (HSA) Foundation has expanded its Academic Partnership Program with the addition of two new HSA Academic Centers of Excellence – Technische Universitaet (TU) Darmstadt, and Friedrich-Alexander-University Erlangen-Nurnberg (FAU), both in Germany. The universities will undertake critical research that will help to further proliferate HSA platforms.

The Open Connectivity Foundation (OCF), a leading Internet of Things (IoT) standards body, announced the addition of 68 new member organizations including Haier Group, LG Electronics and NETGEAR Inc., growing membership to more than 300 companies. As one of the biggest IoT consortiums, this surge in membership follows the announcement last month that OCF and the AllSeen Alliance merged under the OCF name and bylaws with the mutual goal of creating a common IoT standard.

The InfiniBand® Trade Association (IBTA), a global organization dedicated to maintaining and furthering the InfiniBand™ specification, today announced the public availability of the InfiniBand Architecture Specification Volume 2 Release 1.3.1 and a Virtualization Annex to the InfiniBand Architecture Specification Volume 1 Release 1.3. The new Volume 2 specification release expands interoperability and performance management functionality across the InfiniBand ecosystem for both high performance computing (HPC) and enterprise data center networks. The Virtualization Annex extends support for multiple virtualized endpoints within InfiniBand hardware. Both of these publications will be essential to expanding the performance and scalability of future data centers.

The Dynamic Spectrum Alliance today announced a new phase in its history, with the appointment of Kalpak Gude as the Alliance’s President. This exciting development comes at a time when the Dynamic Spectrum Alliance is witnessing continued growth, including the recent addition of 11 new members across four continents. At the same time, policy makers and regulators are recognizing the critical role that spectrum sharing now plays in helping them increase universal access, accommodate wireless data growth, and enable the Internet of Things.

The AirFuel™ Alliance, a global consortium of industry leaders focused on enabling and accelerating the adoption of wireless power technology, announced the formation of a new PC Task Force today.

Leading PC and semiconductor manufacturers including Dell, Lenovo, STMicroelectronics and others are helping to launch this new AirFuel Alliance Task Force and are welcoming all members of the ecosystem – PC-OEMs, integrated circuit suppliers, infrastructure and technology providers – to join forces and further the evolution of wireless charging for PCs.  The task force will work towards encouraging all PC OEM’s to embed resonant technology in PCs (including laptops, tablets, and 2-in-1 laptop/tablet hybrids) through volume production. The goal is to deliver higher power wireless charging at lower costs.
